As we face this snowstorm, the Reading Fire Department is asking for the community’s help to ensure everyone’s safety. Here’s how you can assist us during this storm:

  • Clear Fire Hydrants: Please check the fire hydrants on your street and, if needed, clear a 3-foot area around them to make sure they are accessible in case of emergency. It’s vital that our firefighters can quickly access them when needed. If you notice a hydrant that needs to be cleared and you’re unable to do so yourself, please call the firehouse at 513-733-5537, and we will work to ensure the hydrant is accessible.
  • Shovel Walkways & Driveways: If you’re able to clear your walkways or driveways, please do so. Also, take a moment to check on your elderly neighbors and offer to help them with shoveling. This will ensure that we can access homes quickly and safely in an emergency.

We’d love to see you helping out! If you clear a hydrant or help a neighbor, snap a photo and share it in the comments below using the hashtag #HelpingReadingFD! Let’s work together to keep our community safe during this storm.
Thank you for your support. Your efforts make a big difference, and we appreciate every bit of help!
