As we face this snowstorm, the Reading Fire Department is asking for the community’s help to ensure everyone’s safety. Here’s how you can assist us during this storm:
- Clear Fire Hydrants: Please check the fire hydrants on your street and, if needed, clear a 3-foot area around them to make sure they are accessible in case of emergency. It’s vital that our firefighters can quickly access them when needed. If you notice a hydrant that needs to be cleared and you’re unable to do so yourself, please call the firehouse at 513-733-5537, and we will work to ensure the hydrant is accessible.
- Shovel Walkways & Driveways: If you’re able to clear your walkways or driveways, please do so. Also, take a moment to check on your elderly neighbors and offer to help them with shoveling. This will ensure that we can access homes quickly and safely in an emergency.
