September is officially designated as Ohio Preparedness Month by the state of Ohio, with coordination provided by the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (Ohio EMA). The primary objective of this initiative is to inspire families, businesses, and communities to engage in proactive measures that enhance their readiness for a wide array of potential disasters. These may include natural calamities such as tornadoes, flooding, and winter storms, as well as health crises or human-made events.

This year’s theme is “Prepare Your Home,” providing valuable insights on best practices and strategies to ready your residence before disaster strikes.

Each week of the Ohio Preparedness Month has a theme which discusses a different aspect of preparedness. This weeks theme is Identify Your Risks.
